Local indie-rockers Fancy Face are making waves today with a punchy debut single - complete with lively riffs, catchy hooks and a driving rhythm, ‘Slip Up’ is a recipe for a good time.
When it comes to intentions, those behind Melbourne five-piece Fancy Face are clear - to make music that is loaded with fun and authenticity. Their high octane debut single ‘Slip Up’, produced by Alex Markwell, represents the execution of this ethos. The track bursts to life from the outset with a strong, driving rhythm section that maintains its dynamic energy throughout. The chorus, which starts off as a small taste following the first verse, is superlatively catchy, and acts almost as an outlet for the energy that is accumulated during the tight, punchy verses.

For frontman Aaron Bach, the inspiration for ‘Slip Up’ was to "create something fun”, that would allow him to"step out of the box" that he'd previously felt stuck inside. Through interactions with the band, Fancy Face leave the impression they are committed not only to making great indie-rock, but also contributing a whole heap of positive vibes to the local Melbourne music scene.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to have a boog’ and experience their energetic atmosphere first hand, Fancy Face are getting geared up for a March residency at the Tote that will be sure to get you going!
