Having had a US tour cancelled on the cusp of worldwide COVID lockdowns, it is an exciting prospect for cathartic guitar pop outfit Quivers to be back on tour around Australia, celebrating their latest album Golden Doubt. We got in touch with Quivers to find out the influences behind Golden Doubt.

Husky vocals and jazzy beats set the mood of culaccino’s new EP hot milo. These six tracks feature a combination of experimental instrumentation that create both a trance-y atmosphere and a dance-worthy rhythm. We caught up with the mastermind behind culaccino, Declan Peel, to get a breakdown of the tracks.

Formed during last year’s lockdown, self described ‘bush goth’ outfit Human Intrusion have stayed grounded in that reality over their first two releases. On the otherworldly ‘Asleep’ which they’ve just shared today, they’ve created a fresh and exciting blend of new-wave and post-punk that evokes a desolate sound, filled with desire.

Today we have the pleasure of premiering two new doses of intoxicating psych-pop from rising Sydney songsmith Chet Sounds, giving us another glimpse of the evocative world Chet’s creating on his forthcoming debut album, due out next month through Third Eye Stimuli.

With their upcoming EP due to be released on the 30th of June, Reality Instructors have gifted us their second and final single release from the forthcoming drop – ‘Finished In My Head’ is a frenetic post-punk blitz that doubles as a powerful insight into vocalist Dan Pash’s experiences with hearing loss.

Following on from the release of their latest single ‘Dead Eyes’, rising synth-pop duo Cynthia have returned today to build on the immersive world they’re creating, with an evocative visual accompaniment that elevates the track’s turbulent grooves and sinister atmosphere into something all the more unnerving.

Full Power Happy Hour

Released back in March, Full Power Happy Hour’s debut is an evocative introduction to their brand of heartfelt alt-country. After completing a tour of the East Coast earlier this year, the five-piece band have upcoming shows in their hometown of Meanjin/Brisbane, and in the lead-up singer-songwriter Alex Campbell has kindly provided us with an insight into the stories that make up the group’s self-titled album.
