Today we’ve got the absolute pleasure of premiering Quality Used Cars’ debut album Good Days/Bad Days – full to the brim with sunny garage-pop smarts matched with alt-country tenderness and scrappy sincerity, it’s an unassuming but radiant invitation into Francis Tait’s charming world.
Last month, Melbourne post-punk alumni Tom Brierley revealed his debut solo album Beta under the pseudonym Beige Banquet, a vehicle to toy with his unique brand of awkward and angular weirdo-punk. We had Tom talk us through the bizarre chaos captured across the album’s 12 tracks.
Barricade, the second ambient album from Matthew Hayes, and first with spoken word artist Charlie Perry, leans into themes of human frailty and introspectiveness with an overarching a sense of hope, pairing with the year of its creation seamlessly.
Haphazard and unrestrained in its experimentation, Apollo Bay via Melbourne sextet The Fillmores returned earlier this month with Moonsurfing – a collection of eccentric jangle pop that comes lined with silky hooks and an endearing demo quality, the EP compiles quirky bedroom recordings through the band’s intuitive approach to online collaboration.
Ahead of its official release this Thursday, emerging indie-pop collective Yawn Vibes have been kind enough to give us a sneak listen to their radiant debut single ‘Stadium’.
